ABC Ortopedi Surgery offers expert care in hand surgery for patients with a referral

ABC Ortopedi Surgery is a day surgery orthopedic clinic specializing in hand surgery for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Trigger Finger, and Ganglion.

To become a patient with us, a referral is required from, for example, your healthcare center or an emergency clinic, where an orthopedic specialist will assess whether you are a candidate for surgery.

Before the Surgery

A. The Week Before Surgery

Protect your hand from burns and other skin injuries.

Important: If you develop a wound on your hand, the surgery may be canceled due to an increased risk of infection. Contact us immediately if this happens. You can reach us via the link on our website, ABC Ortopedi Surgery.

If you are taking blood-thinning medication, please inform us in advance.

B. Surgery Day

  • Shower at home using regular soap and remove any nail polish.
  • Any artificial nails must be removed from all fingers due to the risk of bacterial growth.
  • Do not wear any jewelry on your hand that will be operated on.
  • Wear clothing with loose or short sleeves, as we need access to your upper arm to apply a cuff.
  • You do not need to fast, as the procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Eat as usual.

C. After Surgery

  • You should not drive immediately after the procedure, so try to arrange transportation home. This surgery does not qualify for medical transport.
  • Keep your hand elevated (above heart level) as much as possible for the first three days to reduce swelling and bleeding. At night, you can place your hand on your chest with a pillow under your elbow.
  • It is important to move your fingers and hand to prevent swelling. Starting on the day of surgery, you can lift your hand above your head and regularly make a fist, extend, and spread your fingers - ideally several times per hour.
  • After the third day, you may resume daily activities but avoid lifting or carrying heavy objects as long as the stitches remain.
